Binxu Wang
Binxu Wang is a Research Fellow at the Kempner Institute at Harvard University.
Her research lies at the intersection of generative models and visual neuroscience. She integrates theory and experiments, drawing on tools from geometry, interpretability, and machine learning to investigate how brains and AI systems represent and generate visual information. Her projects range from synthesizing images from neuronal activities in primates, to dissecting the internal mechanisms of diffusion models.
Binxu earned her Ph.D. in Neuroscience at Washington University in St. Louis under the mentorship of Carlos Ponce. During her Ph.D., she relocated with the lab to Harvard Medical School, where she spent two years. Before that, she studied Physics in Yuanpei College, Peking University, where she was advised by theoretical neuroscientist, Louis Tao.
Outside of research, she enjoys classical Chinese dance and spending time with cats.
